Strategic Leadership Symposium
Online Symposium on Internationalization of Higher Education Institutions In the Czech Republic
January 27–28, 2021
Join your fellow leaders in higher education in examining the critical challenges in internationalization facing Czech universities today.
We are sorry to announce that the current Covid-19 situation has forced us to change the Symposium into an entirely VIRTUAL event. Even though we will not be able to meet physically, we are working with our speakers to retain the interactive Symposium experience through virtual discussion sessions.
Topics that will be covered include:
- The Rector’s Role in Advancing Internationalization
- International Relations Offices: Beyond Erasmus
- Building Intercultural Competences of Academics and Staff
- Capacity Building for Internationalization at Home
- Intersectional Collaborations: the key to Internationalized Curricula
The Symposium will also serve as the launch event of the project of the new Institute for Excellence in Internationalization (IEI) at Palacký University. The Institute will engage with HEIs across the Czech Republic, and will offer events, trainings, and communities of practice to raise and address internationalization issues and challenges faced by all Czech universities. IEI will harness expertise from both Czech and international experts and will focus also on international collaboration and capacity building projects abroad. The guiding principles of the IEI are drawn from the work of Czech-American international educator Josef A. Mestenhauser. Learn more about his educational philosophy and impact on international education.
The Strategic Leadership Symposium is planned to be held online on January 27-28, 2021.
