How to get the most out of the Symposium - actively participate!

All participants are encouraged to participate during the whole event with your camera on, to help simulate a physical gathering and enable speakers to relate to the audience.  Your microphones will be muted by us during the presentations.  However we kindly ask all participants to use your CAMERAS and MICROPHONES in all break out groups and during networking sessions.

The virtual Symposium contains the following interactive formats and interactive features that will allow participants to engage with each other as well as to ask questions to speakers, organizers, and each other:

  1. Actively use CHAT to:
    • Ask questions to speakers in the panel discussions and closing plenary.  The moderators will collect questions and present them to the speakers on your behalf.
    • To actively reach out to each other, greet each other, share ideas, experiences, best practices, resources, etc. during presentations in order create a community of professionals and simulate a physical conference gathering.
  2. Contribute to discussions in BREAK OUT GROUPS:
    • All other Symposium sessions will include break out groups for all participants to join in and discuss the issues with each other.
    • Discussion Section: all participants will be able to participate in one of the discussion topics in break out groups under the guidance of Facilitators (see program for names and topics).  Break out groups will be closed when the maximum number of participants per group reached, and participants may join other groups that have not yet reached the maximum limit.
  3. NETWORK and meet our Speakers:
    • Break with Online Networking: during this break you may join in an informal chat with your colleagues in break out groups according to the topic of your interest.
    • Online Follow-up Discussion and Networking with guest speakers: you are invited to stay after the Symposium program and informally meet and ask questions of our international speakers and IEI team.
